Tiny Scanner is a scanning app that was developed by Appxy for mobile phones and tablets. The app activates a device’s camera and uses it to obtain high quality scans of documents.

Designed for easy usage by all of its customers, the Tiny Scanner app opens to a main page that contains a list of all of your previous scans in the center of the screen. Two icons sit at the bottom of the screen. The left icon activates your device’s camera, and the right icon opens the gallery of photos already stored on your device. The top left icon, when tapped, rolls down into a list that allows users to manipulate the layout and category by which their scans are displayed. Tapping the three dots on the top right corner of the screen opens a list that contains the search bar, an option to create a new folder, and an option to access the app’s settings.

The Tiny Scanner app creates perfect scans of documents. The app detects the edges of a targeted page automatically, and clicks a picture, which can then be enhanced and edited until it is a perfect scan. It allows users to scan in colour, gray scale, or black and white. The Tiny Scanner app also enables its users to protect their files and scans with passwords. The app performs as a portable scanner on the whole.

The app is easy to use, owing to its familiar layout and overall design. The intention of its design is to make it easily usable by all the consumers that Tiny Scanner reaches out to. The Tiny Scanner app essentially converts a users phone or tablet camera into a mini-scanner.

The Tiny Scanner app is currently supported on Android and Apple platforms, available as a free trial on the Google Play Store and the App Store. It is also available on tablets. The intention with which the Tiny Scanner has been developed is to make scanning something that can be done while on the move, which is why the app also has a share option that allows users to send the scans across apps and platforms easily.

The Verdict

The concept of a portable scanner makes the process of scanning a lot easier and much less expensive.  For a majority of its users, the Tiny Scanner app has performed ceaselessly when needed and has produced good quality results. This app, among other apps that perform the scanner function, is greatly changing the world of scanning, and making it a task that is as easy as taking a picture!
